Annual Sponsored Charity Walk
At Portstewart Strand on Friday 20th September 2019
Each year Dominican College identifies charities at both a local and national level to support. The annual Dominican Beach Walk is one of a number of initiatives we use to support our chosen charities.
Our annual School Beach walk took place on the gloriously sunny afternoon of Friday 20th September and, once again, our entire school community, in line with our school ethos, walked together in support of social justice. Our Year 8 pupils had a chance to meet and walk with their U6 buddy and this process will continue in PD class next week.
Well done to all our pupils who took part in the 2019 Beach walk- we had our largest ever school population of more than 600 pupils on the beach and many pupils agreed to help clear the beach of litter during their walk. All pupils must now endeavour to raise as much as they can to support our designated charities. Once again we thank our parents and our wider community for your continued support.
Over the past fifteen years our school has raised in excess of £150,000 for our sponsored charities During the course of this school year we are asking again for our students to help continue to support a range of charitable causes. See charities.
